Review: Pitch by Jillian Eaton

I know a lot of you are probably sick of "vampire novels." Or at least on the way there. But if you like amazing books with amazing writing, amazing characters, and overall AMAZINGNESS, you will LOVE Pitch by Jillian Eaton. Action-packed and thrilling, with just the right dash of humor, you'll be captivated from start to finish.

Sixteen-year-old Lola is a daredevil. She likes playing hooky, making out with bad boy Everett James, and stealing cars. The reason behind all of her rebellious antics? Because she can. But what can one girl do against a horde of murderous vampires?
Aided by her sometimes sober father, her best friend Travis, and Maximus, the mysterious stranger who appeared out of no where to save her life, Lola must accomplish what the rest of the human race has failed to do in the aftermath of the world wide massacre: survive.
But how do you survive when everything you know has been destroyed... and the one person you thought you could trust ends up being the most dangerous person of all?
------

The story opens with a chilling statement: “I can smell the blood.” But from there, it only gets more intense. With a thrilling, time-flash prologue to start it off, this fast-paced novella doesn't take any breaks.

We’re introduced to Lola, a tough girl with a not-so-great life. We get to come along for the ride as her already crappy life literally becomes a living hell. Because the apocalypse? It seems to have arrived. And it brought—get this—vampires. The vicious, non-sparkling sort.

Lola is a brave, strong heroine who won’t lie down and die, and won’t leave behind those she loves. Everything in her life may have changed, but Lola remains firm in her determination to stay alive, whatever the cost.

I loved every instant of Pitch, from the beginning straight through to the jaw-dropping, heart-pounding, soul-crushing ending. If all of Jillian Eaton’s books are this well-written and exciting to read, I’m certainly going to check them out!!

Thank you, Jillian, for the review copy, and for your patience waiting for the review!

Altogether, Pitch gets <*><*><*><*><*>
